CAPA 2017 Annual Report now available
The 2017 CAPA annual report is now available on the CAPA website.
Themed ‘Sixty Years of Inspiring the Profession’, the report features CAPA’s activities and achievements in the year 2017, and highlights a major milestone in CAPA’s journey – its 60th anniversary.
CAPA President, Jackie Poirier, reflected on CAPA’s inception and past achievements, emphasising the passion and determination of the people that lead the organisation to where it stands today. “In conjunction with the 60th anniversary celebration, CAPA produced its first commemorative book to formally document CAPA’s history, which proved to be an insightful exercise. I am very inspired by the spirit of collaboration that CAPA has created amongst its member bodies and stakeholders, and hope that CAPA will continue to provide the means for this great collaboration well into the future,” she commented.
CAPA Chief Executive, Brian Blood, was pleased with the completion of a major project funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) focused on Quality Assurance (QA) for Audit. The project involved four professional accountancy organisations (PAOs) within the region, two of which are CAPA members, and produced a good-practice-guide. “We were delighted to have been able to work with the ADB to launch and disseminate the QA for Audit Good Practice Guide, and see high level of interest in this topic,” he expressed.
CAPA will continue pursuing initiatives related to its two key areas of focus, namely, PAO development and strengthening public sector financial management, and will embark on some new projects in these two areas in 2018. “We look forward to working with our newly elected President and Deputy President as well as all the member bodies, since their contribution is what makes CAPA strong and successful,” Brian added.
