CAPA announces new leadership team for 2016-2017
The Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA) is pleased to announce Jackie Poirier as the new President for the next two years, taking over the helm from Sujeewa Mudalige.
Jackie is a Director of Nova Scotia Tax Services Office with the Canada Revenue Agency. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) in Canada and a past Chair of the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada. She has been involved with CAPA since 2007, including serving as Chair of CAPA’s Professional Accountancy Organisation Development Committee.
Out-going President, Sujeewa Mudalige, commented, “Jackie has been on the CAPA Board for 8 years and her experience will be invaluable. Importantly, Jackie becomes the first female President in the history of CAPA.”
In addressing CAPA members, Jackie expressed gratitude to the Board and members for their support and now looks forward to leading CAPA to new heights.
Meanwhile, the Board elected Manoj Fadnis as Deputy President. Manoj is currently the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
CAPA Chief Executive, Brian Blood, is looking forward to working with the new leaders, noting “we have a strong and well-balanced team to represent our Asia and Pacific region”.
