Influential Leader and Volunteers needed to serve on Global Standard-Setting Boards

Join one of the international accountancy standard-setting boards that help to drive transparent, accountable and growing global economies. The following standard-setting boards are looking for strong, motivated, experienced leaders and volunteers with relevant subject-matter knowledge from diverse backgrounds to serve starting from mid-2019 or early 2020.

  • Chair for the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB)
  • Volunteers for the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) – 5 positions
  • Volunteers for the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA) – 6 positions, including public member positions
  • Volunteers for the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB) – 6 positions, including public member positions

The IAASB Chair is appointed for a renewable three-year term, commencing 1 May 2019. The global search for an influential leaders to undertake the positions of IAASB Chair reopened in December 2018 following the inability of the designated appointee to assume the post due to personal reasons. Applications from qualified candidates will be accepted until 31 January 2019. Nominations for volunteer positions on the IAASB, IESBA and IPSASB are open to all stakeholders, including institutional investors and analysts, audit committee members, corporate governance professionals, academics, regulators, policy makers, standard setters, as well as individuals from governmental agencies, accountancy firms and the general public. Nominations of non-accountants for the public member vacancies are strongly encouraged. The boards aim to achieve gender, regional and professional balance and thus strongly welcome nominations from female candidates and those from Asia, Africa-Middle East and Latin America-Caribbean. Nominated volunteers are expected to commence their term in early 2020.
